About Tumble Weeds
Gymnastics
Aim
- To introduce young children to movement, increase physical competence and coordination, and to broaden their social experiences through the learning of and participation in gymnastics.
- To provide professional delivery of quality programs, where children are encouraged to experience new challenges in a FUN, stimulating, safe environment.
- To provide safe and appropriate progressive programs for children 2-9 years of age in a venue equipped to entice and inspire.
- To provide a haven where children feel good about themselves. We welcome you to enjoy watching the various developments of you eager budding gymnast!
History
- Tumble Weeds was established
in 1999 running kindergym and recreational programs, operating from a trailer
with portable equipment, hiring a church hall as its primary venue in Alexandra
Hills.

In 2001 Tumble Weeds moved to Capalaba and introduced WAG Competition Programs
in a permanently set up gym designed for the young at heart, while also well
equipped for serious training.

In 2004 Tumble Weeds moved to the Sleeman Sports Complex at Chandler to create
a specialty venue, permanently set up specifically for pre-school children.
- In 2008 Tumble Weeds relocated to the Redlands PCYC at Capalaba, replacing the program that the PCYC had been previously running, and re-introducing to classes for children up to 9 yrs at Tumble Weeds.

Tumble Weeds is registered with Kindergym Australia, Gymnastics Queensland
(the State Association), and Gymnastics Australia (the National Governing
Body).

Tumble Weeds is a privately owned, self supporting club.
Staff
- All TWG coaches are accredited coaches, who also undertake extensive
club training prior to commencing full coach responsibilities, as well as
attending regular inhouse training.

All TWG coaches are registered with the State (QGA) and Federal Bodies (AGF)

All TWG coaches hold CPR and First Aid Certificates.

All coaches hold Suitability Cards for Child related Employment issued by
the Qld Government (Commission for Children and Young People).
